A Perfect Pairing

This good-natured, Australia-set romance banks on viewers wanting low-effort, formulaic fare that's pleasant, predictable, and easy on the eyes. In fact, A Perfect Pairing is strikingly similar in storyline, tone, and even lead actor (Demos) to the 2019 Netflix title Falling Inn Love. The formula has been improved, though, and Pairing is the more engaging feature, thanks in large part to former Nickelodeon star Justice. She appears in almost every scene and is relatable and charming, though not entirely believable working the farm in perfect hair and makeup. The location is stunning, and the communal cast is affable though thinly developed and largely forgettable.

Millennials are quickly becoming the most prevalent generation of medical learners. These individuals have a unique outlook on education and have different preferences and expectations than their predecessors. As evidenced by its implementation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in the United States and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada, competency based medical education is rapidly gaining international acceptance. Characteristics of competency based medical education can be perfectly paired with Millennial educational needs in several dimensions including educational expectations, the educational process, attention to emotional quotient and professionalism, assessment, feedback, and intended outcomes. We propose that with its attention to transparency, personalized learning, and frequent formative assessment, competency based medical education is an ideal fit for the Millennial generation as it realigns education and assessment with the needs of these 21st century learners.

How far would you go to land the perfect client and get back at your heartless former boss? For fictional L.A. wine executive Lola Alvarez, played by former Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice in Netflix's A Perfect Pairing, the answer is Australia.

I will say that this movie is truly escapism at its finest, with its cozy small-town feel and stunning Australian backdrop. Wine enthusiasts will especially appreciate Lola and Max's romantic getaway to the winery, featuring a nice little tour of the family's stunning wine cellar. However, despite the scenery and film title's clever play on words, Lola and Max don't quite feel like the "perfect pair."

Thanks to the fact that the movie is literally the perfect rom-com recipe, fans have been very much obsessed with Netflix's latest offering - all saying the same thing about Victoria Justice as Lola, while Adam Demos has spoken out about topless scenes in the film too.

It is odd to have a story ultimately meant to build a romance, but fails to do so. It is a rare gift to make falling in love seem like happenstance and not something the central couple makes happen. The mutual attraction is evident, but the movie quickly moves past crucial moments where the couple might actualize their feelings. It leaves viewers to wonder about things: Did Lola and Max have a late night dip in the pool and not kiss after some intimate eye contact and laughs shared? Maybe not. When the two act on their feelings, it is abruptly shut down by Max, who has been keeping a secret from Lola. The movie proceeds to wrap up its third act as quickly as possible and seal it with one last kiss, and that's that. Thoroughly unfulfilling as far as romances go. Despite what the title infers, the main couple is only perfect due to some contrivances and not because they seem romantically fit for each other.

If you've been anxiously awaiting season two of \"Sex\/Life,\" Netflix is giving you a rom-com starring Adam Demos to hold you over until the show returns. Titled \"A Perfect Pairing,\" the movie follows an LA wine-company exec named Lola (Victoria Justice) who travels to Australia, where she ends up working at a sheep station. While working as a ranch hand, sparks fly when she meets the handsome station manager, Max (Demos).\n\"I'm a sucker for a good rom-com, and I feel like 'A Perfect Pairing' is a good one,\" Justice tells POPSUGAR. \"OK, I'm a little biased, but it has heart and, of course, a love story. There's something special about how our film intermingles the wine world with sheep farming. It's two worlds that you wouldn't think would collide, and that's where a lot of the comedy comes in. It's a fish-out-of-water story, and I'm the fish.\"\n\"Pour yourself a glass of wine, get cozy, and prepare to fall in love with Australia, some sheep, and Adam Demos.\"\nDemos \u2014 who previously starred in 2019's \"Falling Inn Love\" alongside Christina Milian \u2014 describes the story as \"fun, charming, and [with] a lot of heart.\" He adds, \"I grew up on a farm like the character. Mine was a lot smaller, but I could still relate to loving being out on the land and the peace and beauty it comes with.\" \nSimilarly, Justice relates to Lola's \"determination and moxie on some level,\" even though her character is more of a risk-taker than she is. \"I also admire her passion for wine and her work ethic. I feel the same way about acting and music,\" Justice says.\nBoth Demos and Justice were on location in Australia for the production of the film. \"It was a dream,\" Justice gushes. \"On weekends when I wasn't filming, I was able to explore a bit and experience the wildlife. I held a koala and snuggled a kangaroo. It's really a beautiful place with beautiful people, and I feel so lucky to have filmed there.\" Given that Demos is a native Australian, he also had \"the best\" time shooting there. He adds: \"We didn't use a studio, and we had the most epic locations.\"\n\"A Perfect Pairing\" hits Netflix in May.
